Walked-Up Mixed Days:
Morghew’s walked-up days are inexpensive, informal, relaxed and authentic – about as close as you can get to being invited to spend a day shooting with a neighbouring farmer who owes you a favour. On a walked up day you will see some wild and unspoilt parts of the estate that you would never see on a driven day.
As with the formal shooting we meet at 9am for a tea or coffee and after a team talk we do four or so drives before lunch, three or so drives in the afternoon and a cup of tea or coffee before departure. Lunch is taken in our barn sitting on straw bales and is usually stew, a glass of claret and a slice of cake.
These days can vary in character according to what you want from the day. They have been run as mini-driven, walk one stand one, and completely walked up. Last season, on walked up days, we shot pheasant, partridge, mallard, teal, snipe, woodcock, greylag, pigeon, crow, moorhen and coot.
The price for 60 - 100 bird walked up days is £28 per bird plus VAT.
